ERA 50:50 is a not-for-profit CIC founded in 2015 to campaign for 50:50 gender balance on British stage and screen. It is run by working actresses of all levels, disciplines and ages. We work with those in decision-making positions in film, TV and theatre, including commissioners, producers, casting directors and artistic directors, to influence and encourage strategies to achieve 50:50 gender representation on stages & screen across slates and seasons of programming by championing best practice. We lobby MPs in government and opposition to make public funding and tax relief for the entertainment industry contingent upon a commitment to 50:50 gender representation. We conduct public advocacy at prominent entertainment industry events and in the media in order to raise awareness, with the help of our high-profile supporters and ambassadors.
