Belinde Ruth Stieve‘s NEROPATM Neutral Roles Parity is a unique method for reducing gender imbalance in scripts and diversifying casts in a straightforward, systematic and low-threshold manner. The German actress and consultant developed this Gender & Diversity Tool primarily for theatre, film and television. NEROPA can be used both with existing plays and scripts and in script development and writing.
The first step (NEROPA Check) – ideally performed by a team of three – starts with the question “Does this character have to be male?”. The second step (NEROPA Finetuning) asks “Does the actor have to be white, young, good-looking, able-bodied and slim?”.
